I'm just saying, clearly something is different this time, and it's not just spaghetti code or unhappy fans.

Technically CA owes us nothing beyond what we already paid for (although an argument could be made that they had created expectations through their support for the past two games and some people bought this game based on those expectations). I'm not saying this out of anger or entitlement. No roadmap, no content releases (free or paid).
#Total war warhammer 2 dlc release schedule update
Now here we are, just about two months after WH3 release, and we just got our first update to the game. Rise of the Tomb Kings, probably one of the best DLCs in the franchise, was released on 24 January 2018, alongside Tretch as FLC - four months after release, likely because of Norsca-related delays. Despite delays, the first content release - Mortal Empires and the Blood DLC - came out on 26 October, basically one month after release. Post-launch content was delayed by the Norsca incident, but I'm pretty sure they released a roadmap either before launch or very shortly thereafter. The first major DLC, Call of the Beastmen, was released on July 28, about two months after release, alongside the Amber Wizard FLC. Its first content update (Blood DLC + Blood Knights FLC) was released on 30 June - basically a month later. I'm not going to be a doomsday prophet and say the franchise is dead or anything like that, but I think it's an issue worth addressing. The way this has gone so far is concerning.

Until CA actually gives us the promised roadmap, we can't really do anything but speculate.
